Tour and Travel

Introductory Function of Yuva Tourism Club (Session 2024-25) & a seminar on 'Mountaineering: Techniques & Job Perspectives' was organised on 14th November, 2024. During the introductory function various office bearers of YTC were acknowledged followed by cultural performances of students and a quiz on tourism. Mr. Inder was resource person in the seminar on mountaineering in which he briefed students about various ropes, knots and requisites for camping and expeditions in addition to job perspectives in mountaineering. In this mega event approximately more than 500 students participated.

Leadership Development Programme-1 of Tour & Travel students was organized to Garhwal & Kumaon region of Uttarakhand covering Rishikesh, Rudraprayag, Auli, Joshimath, Badrinath Dham, Kausani, Ranikhet, Nainital & Haridwar under the title 'Visite A Garhwal & Kumaon', Uttarakhand for 11 nights & 12 days between 21st October to 1st November, 2024. In this LDP 13 students participated and explored the potential of adventure tourism in Uttarakhand.

An 'Outdoor Nature Cooking' event was organised by Department of Tour and Travel in association with Yuva Tourism Club on 28th September, 2024 in premises of Balakameshwar Temple, Tikker, Behna, Mandi. In this event more than 122 students of Tour & Travel subject and more than 30 students of B.Voc. (Retail Management) participated & revitalized the concepts of 'Wild Cooking', 'Self Cooking' & 'Rural Tourism.'

World Tourism Day was celebrated by Department of Tour and Travel in association with Yuva Tourism Club, VGC Mandi on 27th September, 2024 on the theme 'Tourism & Peace' in college campus. During the celebrations tree plantation, an oration & feast was organised in which more than 150 students participated.

An educational tour of more than 86 students of Tour and Travel subject was organised to Jispa & Bara Lacha La between 24th and 25th September, 2024 under the title 'Le Tour De Lahaul' as part of World Tourism Week Celebrations, 2024 on the theme 'Tourism & Peace'.

A 'Blood Donation Camp' and 'Office Cum Hat Wearing Ceremony' of Yuva Tourism Club was organized on 21st March, 2024 in college campus.

Field Tour to Odisha and Tamil Nadu between 24th January to 8th February, 2024 was organized by Department of Tour and Travel in association with Yuva Tourism Club  (YTC), Vallabh Govt. College, Mandi.

College Tour to 'Mumbai & Goa ' between 14th January, 2024 to 25th January, 2024 was organized by Yuva Tourism Club  (YTC) in association with Department of Tour and Travel, Vallabh Govt. College, Mandi.

A seminar on 'Job Opportunities in Civil Aviation and its Role in Tourism Development: An Oration by Expert' on 25th November, 2023 was organized by Yuva Tourism Club in association with Career Counseling & Placement Cell, Vallabh Govt. College, Mandi.

A seminar on 'Mountaineering & Rock Climbing: Techniques, Scopes & Career Perspectives' on 26th October, 2023 was organized by Yuva Tourism Club in association with Career Counseling & Placement Cell, Vallabh Govt. College, Mandi.

Department of Tour and Travel in association with Yuva Tourism Club, Vallabh Govt. College, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh celebrated World Tourism Day 2023 on the theme 'Tourism and Green Investments' with official celebrations at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During the celebrations, students planted trees, delivered an oration and distributed feast (Halwa) in college campus.

A Leadership Development Programme to Gangotri Dham in Uttarakhand was organized by Department of Tour and Travel in association with Yuva Tourism Club, Vallabh Govt. College, Mandi Himachal Pradesh between 25th September, 2023 to 3rd October, 2023.

On 21st September, 2023 an excursion to Barot valley was made in which approximately 96 students participated. The students also carried out a day hike.

On 28th August, 2023 Department of Tour & Travel, Vallabh Govt. College, Mandi established its Maiden Yuva Tourism Club (YTC). The club comprised of more than 200 registered students of Tour & Travel subject, B.Voc. (H&T) and Retail management along with students of different streams in addition to member teachers. During the concluding year, YTC carried out numerous activities in college campus and outdoor / field tours.

This year World Tourism Day was celebrated on 27th September, 2024 on the theme 'Tourism & Peace' by Department of Tour & Travel and Yuva Tourism Club, Vallabh Govt. College, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. On this Occasion teachers and approximately 150 students participated and planted trees in college campus, attended an oration by students of tour and travel and teachers, followed by a feast.

Excursion to Bijli Mahadev on 21st September, 2022 on the occasion of World Tourism Week Celebrations.

Day Hikes in Mandi Town to Tarna Devi Hill andMandavya Nature Park on 27th September, 2022 with a purpose to generateawareness among local folk about potential of hiking tourism in th town andenvironment conservation through waste management dustbins usage under thetheme of World Tourism Day 'Re-thinking Tourism.'

Dr. Arvind Kumar Head of Department (Tour & Travel) published research paper on Community Based Tourism (CBT) in Printing Area Journal - A peer reviewed journal in November, 2021.

The students of VGC participated in inter college wrestling championship 2022 in the month of December held at MLSM Sundernagar

The students of Tour and Travel 2nd year and third year went on Field tour cum Leadership Development Camp (LDP) between dates 21st March 2022 to 24th March 2022 to Phula-Ri-Dhaar, Barot, Badagram, Chauntra and Bir-Billing in Himachal Pradesh

Admission to BATTM will commence on 11th July 2022 for the academic session 2022-2023. The students may apply through online mode by selecting 'Tour & Travel' as either of the two disciplines to be chosen in BA. Welcome students !!!!!!
