After the commencement of Sardar Patel University at Mandi in 2018, the affiliation of Vallabh Government College Mandi (H.P.) is in transition phase from Himachal Pradesh University Shimla to Sardar Patel University, Mandi. Currently college is both Universities as per following details :

Vallabh Government College is recognized by University Grant Commission under section 2(F) & 12 (B) of the UGC act 1956.
NCTE Recognition
Vallabh Government College is recognized by National Council of Teacher Education act 1993 (73 of 1993) to run the B.Ed. course with intake of 100 students annually.
NAAC Accreditation Status
Vallabh Government College was awarded the grade ‘B’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore in the year 2023 during the third accreditation cycle. The accreditation for second cycle is under process
