Systematic Voter Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP)
Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) is an indispensable initiative aimed at enhancing voter awareness, education, and participation in the electoral process. Despite facing challenges such as low awareness levels, voter apathy, and resource constraints, SVEEP initiatives have yielded positive results in terms of increased voter turnout, improved electoral literacy, and enhanced electoral integrity. Continued efforts and investments in SVEEP are essential for fostering a vibrant and participatory democracy.
Programme Briefing:
on 18th Oct 2021 ,Dr. Y.P. Sharma, in his role as the chief guest, delivered an insightful address emphasizing the importance of systematic voter education and active participation in the electoral process. He highlighted the significance of informed voting decisions and the role of educational institutions in fostering civic responsibility among the youth.
Throughout the event, various aspects of systematic voter education and electoral participation were discussed, including the electoral process, voter registration procedures, voting rights, and the role of citizens in shaping democratic governance. Interactive sessions and group discussions provided students with a platform to share their views and engage in meaningful discourse on the subject.
Prof. Seema Bawa and Dr. Poonam Sharma shared valuable insights into the strategies and initiatives employed to promote voter awareness and enhance electoral participation at both local and national levels. They emphasized the need for collaborative efforts involving educational institutions, civil society organizations, and government agencies to achieve broader outreach and effectiveness in voter education programs.
Dr. Ravinder Kumar, as the coordinator of the BBA program, highlighted the relevance of understanding electoral dynamics and political processes for future business leaders and entrepreneurs. He stressed the role of ethical leadership and civic engagement in driving sustainable development and inclusive growth in society.
Overall, the event served as a significant platform for students to gain a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities as informed citizens. It underscored the importance of active engagement in the electoral process to uphold the principles of democracy and contribute to nation-building.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Y.P. Sharma and all the faculty members for their valuable contributions and support in organizing this event. We also thank the students for their active participation and enthusiasm, which made the program a resounding success.
AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV
Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" is a term that translates to "The Festival of Freedom's Nectar" in English. It is a commemorative event in India that marks the 75th anniversary of India's independence from British colonial rule. The celebration began on August 15, 2021, and is scheduled to continue until August 15, 2023, marking 75 years since India gained independence in 1947.
The Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is a significant occasion for Indians to reflect on their country's journey towards freedom, honor the sacrifices made by freedom fighters, and celebrate India's rich cultural heritage and diversity. The celebration involves various cultural events, exhibitions, seminars, and initiatives across the country to showcase India's achievements and progress since independence.

Rozgar Mela
On the 15th of February 2023, a series of Rozgar Melas (job fairs) were organized by Career Counselling & Placement Cell VGC Mandi , Under SJUMY providing opportunities for job seekers to connect with potential employers. Among the participants were students pursuing Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees, showcasing their skills and seeking employment prospects.
Several BBA students actively participated in the Rozgar Melas, demonstrating their eagerness to enter the workforce and contribute their expertise to the corporate world. These students brought with them a diverse range of skills acquired through their academic studies and practical experiences, making them valuable candidates for various roles in the business sector.
Indian Contract Act 1872
Onthe 5th of October 2023, the BBA department Organised a lecture on theIndian Contract Act, of 1872, delivered by Advocate “Abhishek Lakhan Pal”.
Thespokesperson explained the Indian Contract Act of 1872 very simply and quicklyso that they could apply this in their daily life.
Intellectual Property right and Entrepreneurship
On25th Oct 20123 Mendeleev Chemistry Club and the BBA Department organizeda one-day workshop in college regarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) andEntrepreneurship which was sponsored by HP Patent Information Centre, HIMCOSTE-Shimla.
Intellectual Propertyhas increasingly assumed a vital role with the rapid pace of technological,scientific, and medical innovation that we are witnessing today. Intellectualproperty has therefore grown into one of the world’s biggest and fastest–growingfields of law thereby necessitating the demand for IP professionals well-versedin this area to deal across national and international borders.
