Economics

Economics known as the science of money is taught as a subject in Vallabh Government College at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The postgraduate level classes of this subject have been started in the college from the year 1994-95.Mr. Mehar Chand Assistant Professor at present serves as Head of Department.

Economics not only gives job opportunities but also makes students to think about economic development of country. This subject is more practical then theoretical, because it is related to daily activities of our life. With this, we also get information about the economic activities happening in the country like national income, consumption, savings, production, investment, expenditure, taxes, foreign trade, financial assistance, money market & capital market etc.

Vision of our mission:-

“Economics is science which studies human behaviour as a relationship between ends   and scarce means which have alternative uses.” ---Robbins

Our aim is to take the students into the depths of economics. So that the students not only make their career out of it but also contribute in the development of the country. Talking about career, economics provides employment opportunities in various fields like Teaching, Banking, Statistical Organization, Financial Institutions,  Indian Economic Services. Economics is called an art but it works like a science. Science is based on facts, in the same way Economics also cannot be proved without facts.
